On November 8, 2013, Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda was one of the most devastating typhoons to ever hit land. Tacloban City, as well as many towns, villages, and communities in the Visayas regions of the Philippines were severely victimized. Thousands of casualties and millions impacted, the world came to help.
“Rise Up, Tacloban!” is a song of hope written by Tacloban City artist, Alexander 'aLexz' Mabulay and his vision for the song came to light with the support from Streetlight Philippines, The Balikbayan Project Canada, and Qi Creative Inc, whose efforts continue to help traumatized victims heal through positive forms of self-expression.
